Ankur commented on MAHOUT-305:
------------------------------

I am not proposing that we choose random subset over all movies. Rather choose random N%
movie ratings from EACH user and use it as test data to get precision recall across this
test set. Also repeat this procedure X times to get a fair assessment. They seem to do it
the same way - http://www2007.org/papers/paper570.pdf

> We have two different but essentially identical MapReduce jobs to make recommendations
based on item co-occurrence: org.apache.mahout.cf.taste.hadoop.{item,cooccurrence}. They ought
to be merged. Not sure exactly how to approach that but noting this in JIRA, per Ankur.
