I should clarify:

http:/XXX.XXX.XX.XX:8983/solr/yourCoreName/select
q=*%3A*&rows=0&wt=json&indent=true&facet=true&facet.field=category

"yourCoreName" will get built in for you if you use the Solr Admin UI for
queries --
