I have no idea, especially since the syntax of the query
is wrong, is this a cut/paste error? Because you
should have something like  &q=UniqueID:[* TO 123],
you left off the "q=" bit. Otherwise, depending on whether
you have a default query specified you may be getting
a much different query than you expect.

Add &debug=all to the query and you should see a
timings section that might shed some light.
