Very Strange $CATALINA_HOME is empty ?!!!

Help is welcome !

Another thing, in the /usr/share/tomcat6/catalina.sh I added twice time
JAVA_OPTS="$JAVA_OPTS ......... -Xms1024m -Xmx2048m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m"
