This should help ....

HttpClient client = new HttpClient();
client.getParams().setAuthenticationPreemptive(true);
AuthScope scope = new AuthScope(AuthScope.ANY_HOST,AuthScope.ANY_PORT);
client.getState().setCredentials(scope, new
UsernamePasswordCredentials(user, password));
