Not sure if it was this guy or not, but someone was on the user list with this in the past

Rather than a bug, I think they were looking for an improvement - getting the id back on posting
a document when that id is generated (say by the dedupe processor). This is actually somewhat
standard behavior for a REST POST call.

You can always make the signature field something other than the id field though. Not always
ideal, but one option.
