I sort of get this, but then I don't. The outlier is DateField -- what does it get you other
than some magic around ensuring that dates are stored as ISO 8601 dates? In the end, it's
just a special type of StrField though too, right? Not trying to be difficult, just trying
to understand.

In any case, I'll focus on GeoHashFieldType for now, regardless...
