It's a shame that the String needs to be re-encoded in UTF8 just for the XML parser to make
Strings again... but that's just implementation and can always be sped up in the future.

Instead of using getSchema().getSolrQueryParser(null), we should construct a SolrQueryParser
with the current XML QParser.
