Subject [jira] Resolved: (SOLR-329) Solr should attempt to create the data directory if it doesn't exist

Erik Hatcher resolved SOLR-329.
-------------------------------

    Resolution: Invalid

Solr most definitely recreates the data directory if it is not there during startup.

I'm closing this as "Invalid". Perhaps discuss your scenario in more detail on solr-user
and we'll re-open if there is some bug you're experiencing, however I often remove the data
directory and restart Solr with no problems.

> Key: SOLR-329
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-329
> Project: Solr
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: update
> Affects Versions: 1.3
> Reporter: Stu Hood
> Priority: Trivial
>
> Currently, if the data directory doesn't exist, Solr will fail to start. Before failing,
Solr should attempt to create the data directory.
> In my case, the data directory is in the tmp folder, and so after a restart, it has disappeared.
