- Solr by default only supports static ranges on some facets, in fact these facets are very
useful and can help a lot on many applications, but there are some applications where a dynamically
calculated facet ranges are very welcome, in a e-commerce site this kind of facet can help
a lot when you are about refine your search by specific price range based on your search results.

- This kind of feature can be implemented on both sides, at server side (Solr) or at client
side (application logic), in client side we have some performance issues because a first approach
in this way could be send two queries to Solr, the first only contains the search term without
any sorting and the second query containing the search term an sorted by field that will be
used in our facet, the lower value will be retrieved from the first document on search results
and highest value will be retrieved from last document on search results, we can use lower
value to generate the first entry of our facet and the higher value to generate the last entry
of the same facet, the range of each entry will be based on a simple calculation based highest
value divided by number of returned documents.

- If you have any thoughts about it, please add more content in this page.
