I suggest using setRAMBufferSizeMB method of IndexWriter (or SetMaxBufferedDocs, they are interchangeable).

Subject: Limiting IndexWriters memory usage?

Is there a way to limit IndexWriters memory usage?
While indexing many many documents my IndexWriter  occupies > 30MB in memory. Is there
a way to limit this "usage"?

Thx
Clemens
