Lucene does not inherently support indexing anything besides plain text,
however Tika (http://tika.apache.org/) can extract information from
these types of files for indexing within Lucene.

P.S. I hope I'm replying to this properly, first attempt at using a

Subject: Dose Lucene supports search in binary files saved into Database

Hello -

I am completely new to Lucene and I am looking for a search engine which
supports search in txt, pdf, html files which are saved into the
database as
binary data. Does Lucene support search in such kind of files?

Thanks in advance,
    Denys
