Ahhh ... yeah i forgot to mention i had no idea what the broader AC 
schedule looked like.

It's a tough call about which would be better: tues or thurs?

On one hand, it might be nice to have the meetup after the intro level 
talks so people new to Lucene have some basis todecide if they want to 
check out the meetup ... on the ohter hand -- that would thursday a 
*LONG* day.

 .... grrrr.... there aren't enough days in the week.
