Thanks Ralph for that link. Makes perfect sense now. I'll let us tackle that in SOLR-11884

So this Jira is pretty close I'd say.. couple of small nocommits , add licenses and any other
precommit issues , improve the CHANGES and include all the contributors here etc.

I'll leave it for a couple of days for folks to maybe try out and give there thoughts on the
