Joel Bernstein commented on SOLR-9102:
--------------------------------------

I believe the key thing that needs to be done to support a transactional put() is to support
that ability to rollback / abort.

I think the best approach for adding rollback / abort capabilities to SolrCloud, is to add
an *undo log* that works with the existing redo log.

> It would be useful to add *get()* and *put()* Streaming Expressions that allows SolrCloud
to be behave like a transactional distributed key/value store. This will allow Solr's real-time
get and multi-get capabilities to be easily combined with other expressions.
> Sample get syntax:
> {code}
> get(collection, ids="a,b,c")
> {code}
> This ticket will also explore the possibility of adding a *transactional* put. Different
transaction schemes will be explored.
> {code}
> put(collection, id="a", fieldA="aaab", fieldC="blah blah")
> {code}
