Subject [jira] [Created] (SOLR-4750) solr not starting up in a given scenario
Date Tue, 23 Apr 2013 01:16:13 GMT
Anand created SOLR-4750:

Summary: solr not starting up in a given scenario
                 Key: SOLR-4750
             Project: Solr
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 4.2
            Reporter: Anand

I recently upgraded to solr 4.2.1 and things are mostly working. However, in one particular
case I am not able to start solr server used by my tests.

With "start.jar" that come with 4.2.1 package (solr does not start up fine)
{code}java -jar start.jar -Dsolr.solr.home=. -Djetty.port=8088 -Djava.util.logging.config.file=etc/

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.eclipse.jetty.xml.XmlConfiguration
	at Method)
	at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(
	at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(
	at org.eclipse.jetty.start.Main.invokeMain(
	at org.eclipse.jetty.start.Main.start(
	at org.eclipse.jetty.start.Main.main(
ClassNotFound: org.eclipse.jetty.xml.XmlConfiguration

With "start.jar" that came with 4.0.1 (solr starts up fine)
{code}java -jar start.jar -Dsolr.solr.home=. -Djetty.port=8088 -Djava.util.logging.config.file=etc/{code}

I saw that there was one minor difference in start.config where
$(jetty.home)/lib/jetty-websocket-$(version).jar !
available org.eclipse.jetty.websocket.WebSocket{code} was missing compared to the previous
version but not sure if that is the reason.
