I didn't know about IndexSorter. It would be nice to have a codec wrapper that would override
all *Writer/Consumer.merge methods to make the merged segments sorted. This could help make
the I/O cache work happily with stored fields/term vectors and early terminate queries after
having visited min(maxBufferedDocs, numHits) documents without requiring the index to be read-only
nor to have to store a doc ID mapping in memory (but at a higher indexing/merging cost)?
