The problem seems to be really the fact that we had 2 web application writing to the same
index from one linux process hosting the tomcat application server.

I switched off the indexing from one web application, leaving only the other one writing the
index, and it has worked without problems for 3 days.

We'll write some lock mechanism between the two web applications.
