Yeah, but only if you are using the same SolrServer instance to add to multiple collections. You can set the default per instance.

If you want to work with multiple collections with a single SolrServer instance, then I think these methods def make things nicer - unfortunately, you have to handle a lot of them with a bunch of variants. I still think we should do it though.
