And I totally agree that the less frustrating we make startup for a new person the better.
Could we solve it by providing some number of startup scripts? Each is stupid-simple "java
-Dsolr.solr.home=blahblah -jar start.jar". Or even a shell script that took a parameter that
defaulted to a simple, single core....
