Subject [jira] [Commented] (SOLR-2588) Make Velocity an optional dependency in SolrCore
Date Tue, 25 Oct 2011 20:24:32 GMT

Erik Hatcher commented on SOLR-2588:

I'm going to start making some commits on this issue. I've re-done the work locally on a
fresh trunk checkout just to make sure things are clean, and I'm not seeing the test failures
I saw before. Maybe some dependencies on the example environment were removed? Or...?

Anyway, I'll get this rolling in the next day or so and hopefully have this resolved then.

> In 1.4. it was fine to run Solr without Velocity on the classpath. However, in 3.2. SolrCore
won't load because of a hard reference to the Velocity response writer in a static initializer.
