Uwe, I'd like to agree with you, however I cannot (because then I wouldn't have had to create
an issue!).  Look at DR.doOpen* methods.  They're private.  There's no reason for them to
be.  They need to be protected, that's in the next patch.  Fairly simple.  The follow on to
this is overriding IW to return custom readers.  I had an issue and patch for that a while
back.  It's best to implement both here, as Lucene 4.x Solr's NRT will show the same problem!

I think you're right, looks like this *could* be done be overriding doOpenIfChanged* however,
it doesn't make sense to duplicate code!
