Hi Marc,
to remove the unneeded cast leading to an unchecked warning, also calling static methods on instances is a no-go:
Replace:

clazz = (Class<? extends Encoder>) this.getClass().forName(name);

By:

clazz = Class.forName(name).asSubclass(Encoder.class);
