I agree that live settings on IWC feels too much 'action at a distance'. It's not a great
pattern.

FWIW, live config on the IW and a static IWC feels right to me. Earwin makes a strong argument
for dropping live altogether - though I'm still liking the idea of allowing it where it's
easy and especially where it has existed.

And I've always felt unsafe publication was scary...
