But we can contribute this to the right place. Things like queries and queryparsers don't
need to be added to Solr-only.
Its easier to do this up-front, than after the fact. I felt that it was pulling teeth with
the analyzers, etc.

I 100% agree with robert, I think we should not make the same mistakes we did with faceting
(at that time solr & lucene where two projects I know - so don't get me wrong!!) stuff
like that should be available for all users solr is just the sugar on top and there are many
usecases where folks use something in between.
