Chris, I'm not sure if Apache INFRA people will do this for us, but we can ask, if we want
this behaviour .... here:

I was actually hoping for bounces as a way to get people to move over to @lucene lists.  Very
few people use those @jakarta lists, and I just wanted to clean things up.

Doug, please update if you don't want the
lists to be just removed.  I'd personally just email the -user list, say the @jakarta lists
will be removed, and then get INFRA to remove them.

Perhaps the best course of action would be to keep the jakarta addresses
in existence, remove the existing forwards to the new addresses, and
change the "you must be subscribed" and "thank you for subscribing" auto
replies to say "this list has been replaced by _____ please subscribe to
