Subject [Solr Wiki] Update of "IRCChannel" by ShawnHeisey
Date Mon, 01 Sep 2014 17:30:39 GMT
Dear Wiki user,

You have subscribed to a wiki page or wiki category on "Solr Wiki" for change notification.

The "IRCChannel" page has been changed by ShawnHeisey:
https://wiki.apache.org/solr/IRCChannel

Comment:
initial creation. Info about etiquette to be added.

New page:
There are two primary IRC channels dedicated to Solr at [[http://freenode.net/irc_servers.shtml|freenode.net]].

 * #solr -- Channel for Solr user questions
 * #solr-dev -- Hangout for discussion of Solr development

The IRC channels can be used for online discussion about Lucene/Solr. Developers should be
careful to transfer all official decisions or useful discussions to the issue tracking system
and/or the mailing list.

Below is a link for bringing up a web-based IRC client, but before clicking on that link,
please read these guidelines about IRC etiquette and how to successfully obtain help there:

(stuff goes here)

Click [[http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=#solr|HERE]] for freenode IRC webchat, already
configured with the #solr channel. You may wish to open that window in a new browser tab.
For a typical Windows-based browsers, this is done by holding the ctrl key while clicking.
