What's the best way to get the RenderedMessage of the logger?

At the moment I have a thread (logwatcher) that checks if there is a line added to the logger. The thread takes a lot of performance. 

Is there another solution for this? Does the ILog has an event like newMessageReceived? Or can I create such event for it (how to link that custom event to the logger)?
