I'm definitely keeping the info and will be addressing the rest of the team
at the appropriate point in the history of log4j. I've already spoken with
a couple people about log4j here, and it's pretty easy to convey the need
for a new project when Logback is a lone wolf project. It might be a little
hard to hold my hubris about some of the "basic" features log4j 2 gets
right.

Which reminds me, I really like the direction we've been going (before I
ever started looking at the project) about making things "just work". The
servlet 3.0 code, for instance, is nice about that. It's actually been hard
for me to keep in mind since I've gotten so used to enterprise programming
where everything has to be configurable before even being initialised.
Kudos to all about that.
