cool I wanted to make sure I wasn't messing you up. 
So when you downloaded the source did you try to get it to 
compile before you made any changes?

I downloaded the source for version 1.2.11, but there is a small change to the source that
I needed to make (DailyRollingFileAppender's rollOver() method), and now I want to build a
jar to link into my project.
