because LoggingEvent stores the timstamp information as a long. It's 
simpler to use the format already available in the original event. However, 
the number stored uses a Java specific convention and one of our goals is 
to have DBAppender's output format be language-independent. Having said 
that, XMLLayout which can be read by various log4* implementations already 
uses the Java convention.
