Here are the hit counts I got: alphaworks logging 3,480 java.logging 6,770 logkit 12,000 (lots of irrelevant links) jlog 2,990 jras 2,280 log4j 101,000 If I assume that the number of references to each logging API is indicative of the community using/discussing it, then log4j wins overwhelmingly. I think it is fair to say that log4j is widely used. Log4j will continue to improve by leaps and bounds such that in the future our qualitative edge will not erode but widen.
