Summary: property substitution missed for appender
           Product: Log4j
           Version: 1.2
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows 2000
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Configurator
        AssignedTo: log4j-dev@logging.apache.org
        ReportedBy: dennis@bevocal.com

The DOMConfigurator.findAppenderByName() method matches the name passed in to
name of all appenders defined in the document. However, while the appender-ref
name value was processed by the subst() method, name attributes against which
this is tested are not processed by the subst() method.

However I did notice that when the appender defintion is parsed the name
attributed is processed by subst(), it just happens to late to make a proper match.
