Subject SocketNode and Log4x interoperability
Date Sat, 22 Feb 2003 00:19:01 GMT
Hi,

I've been following the discussion for support of log4perl, log4net and
so on, and after looking at SocketNode, it seems to me that if this
class was decoupled in 2: SocketReader/Receiver and LogEventReader it
would be easy to implement formats other than java serialization
protocol, like XML or even a very simple (and fast) pattern based
parsing.

This would also help on implementing other types of transport protocols,
like UDP datagrams, SMTP, HTTP, XML-RPC, Soap, etc.

What do you think ?

Cheers,
Luis Reis
