I think it makes sense to use a common class for 1.0 and 1.1 still, even if 1.1 is not stable,
and subclass from it for specific drivers to avoid similar code laying around in several copies.
Once we see that 1.1 driver is totally different, we can easily make it its own driver.

As for fixtures, unused fixtures should be just removed, people who are going to write tests
will be able to create fixtures on their own (which would be better for them anyway) and I
don't see any use of them outside of tests.
