I think that there is a conflation of issues at play here that I would
like to tease out,

#1 What are the essential characteristics of the missing "release"
that some believe disadvantage us

#2 What is the ban on labs releases intended to achieve

and knowing these two things can we interpolate a solution that
simultaneously satisfies both 1&2?
