KG Anand commented on KARAF-3512:
---------------------------------

Web GUI -- yes.. it's a webconsole.

--------

I am trying to connect from External server using SSH

ssh -p 8102 karaf@192.168.1.1
ssh: connect to host 192.168.1.1 port 8102: Connection refused

If i am using sshHost as "0.0.0.0" in org.apache.karaf.shell.cfg -- ssh from remote server
is working fine
ssh -p 8102 karaf@192.168.1.1 --> Working Fine

If i am using sshHost as "192.168.1.1" in org.apache.karaf.shell.cfg -- ssh from remote server
is Not working
ssh -p 8102 karaf@192.168.1.1 --> Not Working

Error:
ssh: connect to host 192.168.1.1 port 8102: Connection refused

--------------------------

You haven't answered my question.

My Questions are,

Say I have a machine with 4 ethernets

eth0 - 192.168.1.1
eth1 - 192.168.2.1
eth2 - 192.168.3.1
eth3 - 192.168.4.1

1. Using the IP Address (say eth0/eth1/eth2/eth3 ; Anyone eth addr)
My child instance has to bind with particular IP address
netstat -an|grep 8102
tcp       0      0 192.168.1.1:8102     :::*                    LISTEN

>From External Server
scp -p 8102 karaf@192.168.1.1

if i am using sshHost as '0.0.0.0' -- i can able to connect from External server
if i am using sshHost as '192.168.1.1' -- i can't able to connect from External server

Note: I have already configured a user karaf in users.properties.

2. If i am using sshHost as "0.0.0.0"

scp -p 8102 karaf@192.168.1.1 -- working
scp -p 8102 karaf@192.168.2.1 -- working
scp -p 8102 karaf@192.168.3.1 -- working
scp -p 8102 karaf@192.168.4.1 -- working

Here i want to restrict my karaf instance will work with respect to only one interface.
i.e. I want to bind my karaf instance to eth0. If i have configured my sshHost as "192.168.1.1"

Because as per the existing setup, Karaf instance will be accessable from all ethernets from
outside.
As part of Traffic separation, i want to restrict my karaf instance to bind with eth0 only.

> Project: Karaf
> Issue Type: Bug
> Affects Versions: 2.3.2
> Reporter: KG Anand
> Assignee: Jean-Baptiste Onofré

> Karaf version 2.3.2.
> I want to change the sshHost parameter from 0.0.0.0 to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (i.e. Server IP
Address).
> Editing the file, then restart the karaf instance.
> config:edit org.apache.karaf.shell
> config:propset sshHost 192.168.1.1
> config:update
> After the Restart, Instance is not coming up.
> Revert the value to "0.0.0.0" in config file (org.apache.karaf.shell.cfg), then its
working fine.
> Now my question is, we can edit the config file and the set the IP address will work
in Karaf 2.3.3 Version or not ?
> I found some fixes in your website, Its little related to My question.
> Existing:
> tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:8101 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
> Expectation : i want to the change the sshHost from "0.0.0.0" to "192.168.1.1"
> tcp 0 0 192.168.1.1:8101 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
> I want to bind my karaf instance to the specific IP Address.
> I have 4 ethernet interfaces, i want to set the karaf instance has to use the particular
ethernet.
> Is there any possiblilty to make it possible in Karaf 2.3.2 version itself.
> One more Question is, this sshHost parameter is already available in config file(org.apache.karaf.shell.cfg),
then why editing this file with the IP address and restarting the Karaf instance is Not working
?
> Thanks in Advance :)
