Subject [jira] [Commented] (KARAF-2651) Minimal distribution should really be minimal

Achim Nierbeck commented on KARAF-2651:

If you use the standard distribution pax web etc.. is already optional you need to install
that afterwards. Are you saying you don't want those extra features to be installable?

Besides the Minimal distribution is quite minimal already, less wouldn't do it any good.
Blueprint is arguable and with Karaf 4, Karaf itself doesn't rely on Blueprint internally
any longer so the minimal is actually also without blueprint.

> Project: Karaf

> Components: karaf-core
> Affects Versions: 3.0.0

> The Apache Karaf minimal distribution is like a Unix distribution: it downloads most
of the features/bundles during bootstrap.
> However:
> - the featuresBoot should really be minimal (for instance, the ssh feature should not
be a boot feature)
> - it doesn't make sense that the system folder is so large. The system repository should
be "minimal" as most of the bundles are downloaded from Internet.
