Achim Nierbeck commented on KARAF-1519:

even though an assembled karaf is not reproducible this way, I guess generating a kar file
on the fly might be a nice idea.

> Project: Karaf

> Fix For: 3.0.0
> The goal is to allow users to download a standard karaf container, add the features they
need and download everything to make the karaf instance standalone.
> It is already possible to install new feature repos and features into karaf. This only
works with a connection to a remote maven repo though.
> So it would be nice to be able to download the repo file and jars of one or more features
into the system dir of karaf.
> So we might support to download named features or all features of all installed feature
