Claus Ibsen commented on KARAF-1197:

Yes it confuses people.

There is 15 lines printed, and the only detail that they need to know is that first line,
saying creating a new instance on SSH port ...

A -v option would be a good idea. However you can also create instances using the JMX with
admin service, so the option should also be available there as well.

on the console
> ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
> Key: KARAF-1197
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KARAF-1197
> Project: Karaf
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: karaf-admin
> Affects Versions: 2.2.5
> Reporter: Claus Ibsen
> Priority: Minor
> The AdminService can create instances of Karaf. It would be great if you could provide
a PrintStream so you can divert and control console activity.
> eg in this source code
> https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/karaf/branches/karaf-2.2.x/admin/core/src/main/java/org/apache/karaf/admin/internal/AdminServiceImpl.java
> The method println, is hardcoded to do System.out.
> What we need is to be able to provide a PrintStream on these methods
> https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/karaf/branches/karaf-2.2.x/admin/core/src/main/java/org/apache/karaf/admin/AdminService.java
