Do you mean that the log segment after being appended a message with an invalidly large timestamp
becomes very hard to be removed?  Seems KIP-32 replaced the last modified time with message
timestamp to address nearly the same problem, so I don't think it's a good idea to fall back.


Maybe we could add some checks on the producer side to see if the given timestamp is valid
or not?
