> Key: KAFKA-4437
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-4437
> Project: Kafka
> Issue Type: New Feature
> Components: streams

> We want to add an “auto stop” feature that terminate a stream application when it
has processed all the data that was newly available at the time the application started (to
at current end-of-log, i.e., current high watermark). This allows to chop the (infinite) log
into finite chunks where each run for the application processes one chunk. This feature allows
for incremental batch-like processing; think "start-process-stop-restart-process-stop-..."
