> Hello,
> My request concerns kafka-console-consumer.sh behavior (which I suppose is based on KafkaConsumer).
> If I try to consume from a topic that does not exist it connects and waits as if it existed,
which I find is illogical.
> The broker does not have enabled *{{auto.create.topics.enable}}*
> {{Let's say I launch this command:}}
> {code}
> ./kafka-console-consumer.sh --zookeeper $(hostname):2181/kafka --topic inexistentTopic
> {code}
> and inexistentTopic does not exist indeed, then the kafka-console-consumer.sh will wait
forever instead of exit with error code and display an error message saying that the topic
does not exist.
> Anyway that's the way I would expect it to behave in this case.
> Please consider this request.
> Regards,
> Dumitru
