I've download the nightly build r1227027 (bin and lib artifacts) from here
https://builds.apache.org/job/JMeter-trunk/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/trunk/dist/


and unzipped with success and I can confirm that I am no longer seeing the
exception described earlier in this thread
