Hello Knut, to get better help you need to supply better info. Right now what you have given
is anybody's guess. Try something like the following:

URL: http://192.168.1.1:8080 (where and what is your app running? IP, port, etc.)
OS: gnu-linux, windows 2008, etc.
Browser: Firefox and proxy settings (did you set the proxy settings in the browser?)
telnet: can you telnet to the server at a specified port?: telnet 192.168.1.1 8080
ping: can you ping the host?: ping 192.168.1.1
firewalls, routers and modems? what could be stopping the connection?

HTH, David.

Yet some, not wise, go to the other side of the globe, to barbarous and unhealthy regions,
and devote ten or twenty years, in that they may live,-that is, keep comfortably warm,- and
die in New England at last.

Henry David Thoreau - Walden - 1845
