I don't find a jmeter.bat either   where is it supposed to be and can
you tell me what is in it (?)
maybe I can just create one.

There is no 'jmeter.exe' file - it's a Java app and compiles to Java

Look for 'jmeter.bat' - this is a batch file that will start JMeter and
the Java virtual machine.
