I use the View Results Tree listener quite a bit as well for this:

Subject: TPN POSSIBLE SPAM:How to get actual response received?

Getting back to testing my web service, is it possible to have the test
store or display the entire response received? I thought perhaps the
"Functional Test" flag would cause the file specified in the "Monitor
Results" listener to get the data. I went into the "Configure" dialog
and turned every flag on.
