Yes you are correct,they don't appear in the URL. I'll try recording via
JMeter's recording proxy and let you know more details.

It sounds like the parameters are sent via a POST, in which case they don't
appear in the URL. Have you tried recording a login via JMeter's recording
proxy - that way you can see exactly what the browser sends during the login
process.
