Subject Continue functionality in Loop controller
Date Thu, 15 Jul 2004 19:42:08 GMT

Hi,
I have a test case ( simplified ) which generally looks like :

- Thread Group ( loop once )
  ----- Once Only Controller ( login )
----- Loop Controller ( loop many times )
        ----HTTP Request 1
            ----- Assertion
        ----HTTP Request 2
        ----HTTP Request 3
  ----- End Loop Controller
  ----- Once Only Controller ( logout )

Is there a way to skip HTTP request 2 and 3 based on the assertion on HTTP
Request 1.
The HTTP requests have dependency on previous requests.

I can see one way of performing this, which is using regex to store the
success/failure of the request into a variable and using that to control
subsequent HTTP requests within a IF controller. The only issue with this is
with any reasonably sized test plan it can make for a pretty ugly solution.

I did look through the mail archives and found a related discussion :
http://nagoya.apache.org/eyebrowse/ReadMsg?listName=jmeter-user@jakarta.apache.org&msgNo=1920

which in turn referred to a bug entry at
http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=12144 which shows that it
is Assigned. The date on the assignment is in 2002. I am assuming it is not
going to get a fix.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
-Krishna
