The User Parameters is not updating the values after every response,
most 
likely - unless you uncheck the checkbox on the gui.  Even then, this is
a 
very strange way to go.

It would be preferable find a better place to put your initial function
call - 
perhaps in a meaningless assertion under the html request that returns
the 
response you are extracting values from?

Also, I have changed the regexExtractor to behave as you expected, so
you 
can checkout the latest code and use it, or wait for tomorrows nightly
tarball.
